Vitamins and Minerals

The most important thing about your Vitamin and Mineral supplement is that it should be non-synthetic and plant-based.

Most of the vitamins on the market today are SYNTHETIC. They were produced in a laboratory and they are artificial replicas of the vitamins that your body was designed to have.

But don't these vitamins work?

In one aspect they do. They complete the specific action of the vitamin, for example vitamin C, which fights infection, or calcium which aids in bone formation.

The problem is that synthetic vitamins fundamentally function as drugs; they leave behind toxic residue, and also cause other negative side effects.

Vitamins in nature are whole compounds; they are made up of co-factors such as enzymes, and even other vitamins and minerals. Natural plant-based vitamins are part of a complex that act together synergistically. Our bodies were only designed for this type of complete vitamin and mineral structure.

Most synthetic vitamins are only one part of the complex. For example Vitamin C is sold as ascorbic acid, but ascorbic acid is actually just the outside covering of the Vitamin C complex. When you take ascorbic acid without its cofactors, your body must search to find the other parts of the complex, such as certain minerals and enzymes.

This action actually depletes you of these other nutrients, and puts extra stress on your system. If you are battling illness or are over weight because of nutrient deficiency, this may cause further setbacks in your battle for health.

Why are synthetic vitamin supplements so popular? They are very easy and inexpensive to make. Many synthetic vitamins are produced from petroleum extracts or coal tar derivatives. As for our Ascorbic acid? It is produced from refined cornstarch.

God created us to enjoy an abundance of nutrients from a wide variety of fresh food sources. Because of depleted nutrient content in our soil, it is important that we supplement our diets with the classes of nutrients that our cells require.

A great place to begin is to take a vitamin/mineral supplement from plant-based sources that provide the full spectrum of each vitamin complex.
